Current Term December 2018 - December 2022 – Chuck was first elected during the recall election of 2005 and then re-elected to a four-year term in 2006. In 2014, after taking four years off he decided to run for his current term. He ran for office because he wants an informed public making the decisions regarding what is best for the community, as is it’s the public’s money being spent and they should be fully informed and invested in making those decisions. He believes the way to the successful outcome of important projects is to fully inform people so that they know the projects to be funded are absolutely necessary to improve our community. After graduating from UC Santa Barbara with an undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies Chuck spent 36 years working as an environmental planner/biologist for the State Department of Transportation (Cal Trans). He retired in July of 2014 and became involved in his community again. He also serves on the South Bay Community Center Board of Directors and through the CSD has been appointed to serve on the CAPSLO Board of Directors.
