WHAT IS GARBAGE? Garbage is the stuff we don't need anymore, the junk we think is useless.  It's the rejects we don't want to deal with and the cast-offs from the way we live.  It comes from our homes, businesses, government agencies and institutions like schools and hospitals.  Of all the environmental problems we face, garbage is one each of us can really do something about.  Choices we make every day affect the amount and types of garbage we throw away.  When we are careful about what we purchase, resue things rather than buy new ones, and recycle, we not only make less garbage, but we also save natural resources and energy and make less pollution." - The Rotten Truth
